In today's economy wasted resources are very, very hard to recover. Are you wasting your hard-earned profits away on inefficiency? I have consulted with many companies, big and small, and you would be surprised to know that the majority of them did not realize that money was slipping through their fingers every second that they were paying their workers to sit at PC's that were running poorly. If you think that you are saving money by getting by with an old PC, think again. You can be losing thousands of dollars per week, just by being stubborn! Look at it this way: You are paying your employee to work, most likely an 8 hour day, but if their PC is running slow, and they depend on it to perform their duties, then you are paying them to be inefficient. They are not able to complete as many tasks that they could, they get frustrated and begin to try to multi-task while they wait for their PC to do what they wanted it to do, such as opening a file, a program, or even simple file transfers. Have you ever seen this? I am beginning to think it is the root of Adult ADD! Have you seen your employee going to other computers in the office to try to get something done because their PC couldn't handle what they were trying to do? I see these situations time and time again, and until I mention something to the business owner, chances are that they had not realized before that they were limiting their entire company's potential output. Most of the time the PC's need just a little TLC to make them run quicker than ever before, and most of the time the cost of the hardware to upgrade them is not very expensive. For example, a Dell PC that is running Windows XP and has 512 Megabytes of RAM (Memory) is probably 3 to 4 years old, if not older. Did you know that doubling the memory could make extraordinary increases in performance, resulting in extraordinary productivity potential? The cost to double the RAM? About $30 to $50 for the chip, not counting labor (about a half hour per each PC on average). Not hard to work that kind of math, but it is almost ignorant to let people that are trying to make you money work on slow pc's! You may be thinking that the computers you have are not worth fixing. Sometimes that is the case and if it is, I am a Dell Reseller and I can get you excellent deals on new machines that have come down in price as the economy has slowed. Most of the time I can squeeze some new life out of an old machine, so I give an honest assessment when it comes down to helping you decide where you can invest to increase your productivity. Of course I am not counting the employee that wants to play Solitaire all day, but if their computer is running faster they just might be a little bit more motivated to crank out more volume! If you think some of these scenarios might be rearing their ugly heads in your office, then please schedule an appointment so I can help you increase your profit margins! |
